Short-term accommodation is designed to support for when individuals are out of home for a short period of time. Under the Core Support category ‘Assistance with Daily Living’, the NDIS determines whether a client is suitable depending on a few factors. Some of these situations could include;

Transition into more independent living

Allowing informal supports to take a break

Transitioning from hospital or rehab

Transferring from a remote area

Whilst sourcing permanent accommodation

Removal from dysfunctional environments

Transition from correctional services
