Angel for a Day with Team Integrated

On Tuesday, the head staff of Team Integrated joined the Chorus of Angels in the kitchen at Hutt St Centre for an Angel Shift for Hutt St’s spectacular Angel for a Day!

Alongside the Chorus of Angels, Team Integrated arrived early in the day and was greeted by the wonderful Wellbeing Centre Chef, Pete, who gave us a warm and welcoming overview of the kitchen and explained how the Angel for a Day program operates.

The Angel for a Day program is supported by numerous businesses who donate and volunteer to help keep the Hutt St Centre kitchen and meal services running. In return, the program enables those businesses and individuals to experience the impact of action, giving newfound perspective on the significance of food on the table for people experiencing homelessness. Since the service solely relies on the generosity of community support, Hutt St Centre has proudly built a network of people that serves up to 50,000 meals each year.

Not long after Team Integrated geared up with kitchen aprons and gloves, preparation was quickly underway. With the direction of Kitchen Manager, Pete, Integrated was slicing, peeling and packing ingredients for Hutt St’s amazing volunteers, working their magic into the Dining Hall. Within a span of an hour, the doors were open to an array of Hutt St’s Centre’s clients. Over breakfast and lunch, well over a hundred meals were served.

Team Integrated would like to give a big thank you to Pete and the rest of the kitchen team for letting us experience first-hand some of the amazing work you do.
